The end of an Era

So wrestling season has officially ended and for the Hortin clan, its over for a while. Parker was our last boy until my cousins son (who's 5) gets Into high school... So we got awhile!
6weeks ago at a tournament, Parker hurt his knee... He went to the dr, what do ya know?? Torn ACL. Darn those Hortin knees!!! Well they gave him a choice. Either you can finish the season with a brace and pain, or you can be done. Parker chose to finish. The brace was a monstrosity but whatever works!! Haba
Region wrestling came and Parker wrestled so good and ended up 3rd. And it was then that we realized that a state title was within his reach. At the state tournament, Parker pinned his way to the finals. First Hortin to ever make it that far!! He ended up losing the final match in overtime. Due to a controversial call...but if ya ask me. 2nd place with a torn ACL....not to shabby!!!

10 weeks!!

It's funny that after 2 1/2 months I still am amazed that Hixson is all mine. He's growing Up so fast and is at such a fun stage. He's awake most of the day now because he doesn't like naps.... Seriously he takes like 5- 10 minute naps... Unless I'm holding him!!! Spoiled boy! He sleeps really good during the night, usually only waking up once around 3 to eat. And sleeps til about 9. He absolutely loves being naked, and get the biggest grin on his face when he realizes your taking his clothes off. Bath time is his most favorite part I the day.... He kicks and splashes and grins the whole time.
Hes discovered his hands and is learning to control his arms, which results in him looking like he's ready to box, or rope or juat showing off his muscles. He inherited my facial expressions, poor kid. That means he pulls his eyebrows down and looks angry when he's just deep in thought, and is a master at the one eyebrow raise.
We're in the process off getting him to sleep in his own room. I think it's just as hard for me as it is for him. I freak myself out and end up checking on him every 10 minutes. Plus baby moniters freak me out..... Too much law and order!!

Blessing day!!

We blessed Hixson on February 3 2013. In my parents church in wallsburg. My dad gave a wonderful blessing and He had so many supporters come and had 14 people in the blessing circle!! It was a great day!!

2 months

It feels like last week I was in the hospital with my brand new guy... But it's been 2 whole months! The Funnest 2 months I've ever had, along with the most challenging. I don't know what I ever did without hixson... My life revolves around him, and I wouldn't have it any other way.

-he weighs in at 11 pounds 4 ounces
- he is 23.5 inches long
- he's only waking up once a night which makes for a happy mama
